Community Groups have one, simple purpose: to bring people together. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why Community Groups exist.
During the Fall and Spring semesters, our groups aim to meet twice per month. We highly encourage each group member to make attending their group a priority to get the most out of their community experience.
There is power in sharing meals. It has become a foreign concept to even take time to sit with our families and eat, but in the meal community bonds are strengthened and walls are broken down. Of all the things Jesus left his disciples to hold onto, he chose a meal. We call it the Lord’s Supper.
“Bear one another’s burdens” the Apostle Paul says in Galatians 6:2. It is so easy to skip this important part in our relationships, but this is where the power of community comes into play. As the saying goes, “Joy shared is doubled. Grief shared is halved.”
Prayer is THE most powerful component we practice in community. In the Bible we are told over and over to pray for and with one another. That is because when we pray, we are intentionally inviting God into our relationships. And when God is involved, we become something greater than we ever could otherwise.
